at a certain amount of frames around the beginning of the of the motion of the pendulum, we can see it so an extent, since when it begins motions your eyes are attracted to the motion, so if you tried, you could indeed see it, however, the messages/time are somewhat of a distraction that makes you not notice it's motion, thats probably why i thought it was spinning. some of these also have radios and i think that can be used to drown out the sound of the pendulum's friction.

sorry, but its actually a pendulum that has 5 or six leds on it and it moves back and forth very quickly. It works because our eyes are so shitty that we cant see the thing moving. It is a neat device, and i used it as a clock, but its annoyingly loud. too bad.
